Choose where DevStride sends direct mentions and which item activities should notify you. Each person manages their own preferences for the selected organization. Direct mentions and conditional activity notifications have separate controls.
For example, as a project manager, you may want to receive real-time notifications whenever a critical task is completed or requires urgent attention. Customizing your notifications allows you to receive instant alerts when a task moves from "In Progress" to "Review" or "Done," enabling you to promptly review completed work, provide feedback, and keep the project on track.
Open your account menu, then My Account → Notification Settings to edit your preferences for the selected organization.
Under Notify Me of Direct Mentions Via, select the channels you want:
Under Send Conditional Push Notifications To, select a channel tab:
Each channel has its own grid. Check the intersection of an activity row and your role on an item. For example, Assignee Modified → Assignee selects assignment changes for items assigned to you. Preferences save as you change them.
By way of role of team member, select one or more:
Then, also set your notification preferences based on when certain activities occur, such as:
The due date approaching, due date arrived and overdue reminders let you choose when they reach you: the time of day, and how many days before or after the due date. Set them separately on each channel tab — Notification Center, Email, Slack and Microsoft Teams — and your changes save as you make them. Any hour works, including midnight.
An administrator first connects your organization's Slack workspace. Each recipient then:
Recipients do not need to authorize the workspace again or upload an app package. If Slack Integration Required appears, ask an administrator to complete the connection and then reload this page. To opt out of all Slack notifications, turn off Slack direct mentions and clear the Slack activity rules.
See the complete Slack setup guide for app approval, workspace selection, email matching, and delivery troubleshooting.
Your administrator first connects the Microsoft tenant and uploads the DevStride app. Once the app is available:
app.devstride.com.Check your setup and send yourself a test. Once your organization is connected, My Account → Notification Settings shows a Your Microsoft Teams notifications panel just below Notify Me of Direct Mentions Via. It tells you whether your organization is connected, whether you have added the DevStride app in Teams, and whether your DevStride email is verified. Click Send me a test message and DevStride sends a test to your personal DevStride chat. It is sent even if you haven't turned any Teams notifications on yet, and you can send one a minute. If something stops it, the panel says exactly what to fix. When the test arrives, click I got it; if it doesn't, click It didn't arrive for what to try next. The test proves delivery to you works; a mention from a colleague (steps 5 and 6) also proves your notification choices.
The disabled bot composer and You cannot send messages to this bot message are expected: this app delivers notifications and does not require a greeting or command.
For other updates, separately select the Teams tab under Send Conditional Push Notifications To and choose the activities and roles you want. The mention checkbox does not change these rules. Review existing activity defaults before enabling a wider set of notifications.
To stop all Teams notifications through preferences, turn off the Teams mention checkbox and clear the selected rules in the Teams activity grid. Email, Slack and Notification Center preferences remain separate.
See the complete Teams installation and troubleshooting guide for the app download, administrator steps, missing Add controls, account matching, and registration problems. Test environments also need their own app package and outbound delivery enabled by support.
When a user is assigned a task or when a specific event occurs within the project, the software automatically generates an e-mail notification and sends it to the designated recipient(s). These notifications are typically customizable, allowing users to define their preferences regarding the types of notifications they wish to receive.
E-mail notifications in project management software are designed to ensure that team members stay updated and remain aware of important project developments. They provide timely and relevant information, helping individuals prioritize their work, take necessary actions, and stay aligned with the project's progress.
By leveraging e-mail notifications, team members can easily stay connected with the project, collaborate effectively, and maintain visibility into their responsibilities and upcoming deadlines.
To enable email direct mentions, select Email under Notify Me of Direct Mentions Via in My Account → Notification Settings. Select the separate Email tab to configure conditional activity notifications.
