Once your workspace has a shape, consider switching on the AI Assistant. It sits in the lower-right corner of every page and answers how-to questions from this documentation site, so new members can ask How do I move an item to another board? instead of asking you. If you also allow it to use DevStride data, members can ask about their own work (What's due this week?) and have it make changes, each one shown on a card and approved before anything happens.
Switch it on at Configure Settings → AI Assistants → Settings. It is off until you do, and nothing is sent to any AI provider while it is off. Every default role may use it; remove Use Ai Assistant from a role to hide it from those members.
The full guide, from the first question to approvals, auto mode and permissions, is the AI Assistant section. For an agent you already run outside DevStride, such as Claude or Cursor, see Connect AI & the MCP Server instead.
Creating Items with AI
Orientation for new admins: turn notes, a requirements document, or a meeting summary into a batch of editable work items with Create Items with AI, available wherever you add items.
Understanding Permissions
Orientation for new admins: DevStride controls access with two layers — roles (what a person can do anywhere) and sharing (what they can open) — and where to go to set each.
