There are two ways to create a DevStride account. Both land you in the same place — naming your first organization — and you can use either one regardless of how you were invited.
On the sign-up page, accept the terms and then choose Sign up with Google or Sign up with Microsoft. You'll authenticate with that provider and come straight back to DevStride with your account created — no DevStride password to choose, and none to forget later.
The buttons stay greyed out until you've agreed to the terms of use and privacy policy. That's deliberate: choosing a provider sends you straight to them, so your agreement has to be recorded before you leave.
DevStride requires a working email address on every account — it's where notifications go, and it's how invitations find you. Sign-up therefore only completes if your identity provider tells us your address.
Nearly every Google and personal Microsoft account does. If yours doesn't, the sign-up is declined with a note pointing you at email-and-password sign-up, which works exactly as it always has.
Using a provider whose email address already belongs to a DevStride account doesn't create a second one. You're simply signed in to the account you already have, and that provider is linked to it for next time — so one person always has one account, however many ways they sign in.
If your organization uses single sign-on, you can't create a new DevStride account with your work identity — that route is reserved for people your administrator has invited. Ask them for an invitation; once you have one, signing in with SSO works normally.
Fill in your name, email address and a password, accept the terms, and choose Create Profile. You'll confirm your email address, then name your first organization.
However you signed up, if you don't belong to an organization yet you'll be asked to create one — you become its owner. If you were invited to an existing organization before signing up, you'll join it automatically instead.
