Set Up and Edit Boards, Folders, and Cycles
This guide will walk you through the process of setting up and editing Boards, Folders, and Cycles in DevStride.
Setting Up a Board
Step 1: Access Boards
Navigate to the Boards section on the left sidebar.
Step 2: Create a New Board
Click on the New button at the top of the screen. This will open the new board creation interface.
Setting Up a Folder
Step 1: Access Boards
Navigate to the Boards section on the left sidebar.
Step 2: Create a New Folder
- Click on the New Folder button at the top of the screen.
- In the NEW FOLDER pop-up:
- Select a Parent Folder if necessary.
- Enter a name for the folder in the NAME field.
- Ensure the configurations for containing boards and cycles are set as desired.
- Select a cadence from the CADENCE FOR CYCLES dropdown (this is required).
- Choose the status collection for the cycles.
- Optionally select a default team for the cycles.
Step 3: Finalize Folder Setup
Click on the Create Folder button to save the new folder.
Setting Up a Cycle
Step 1: Access Folders
Navigate to the Boards section and then select the relevant folder from the sidebar.
Step 2: Create a New Cycle
- Click on the New button next to the Cycles header.
- In the NEW TIMEBOX pop-up:
- Select the appropriate cadence for the cycle.
- Enter a label for the cycle.
- Set the start and end dates for the cycle.
- Enter the length of the cycle in days.
Step 3: Finalize Cycle Setup
Click on the Create Timebox button to create the cycle.
Editing an Existing Board, Folder, or Cycle
Editing a Board
- Navigate to the Boards section.
- Locate the board you wish to edit and click on the Edit option.
Editing a Folder
- Navigate to the Boards section.
- Locate the folder you wish to edit and click on the Edit option.
- Make the necessary changes in the EDIT FOLDER pop-up.
- Click on Update Folder to save the changes.
Editing a Cycle
- In the Boards section, locate the cycle you intend to edit.
- Click on the Edit button directly on the cycle card.
- DevStride will redirect you to the Cadences section to edit the cycle details in the Planning Cadences view.
- Make your changes in the Cadence setup.
