Refactor Workspace: Moving Folders for Project Reorganization
Overview
Reorganizing your project's structure can enhance navigation and improve the management of your workspace. Moving folders allows you to streamline your workflow and group relevant projects together.
How to Move a Folder
Step 1: Select the Folder
- Navigate to the
Boards
section of the application. - Locate the folder you wish to move. Folders can be found on the left-hand side panel under their respective parent folder.
Step 2: Accessing Folder Options
- Hover over the folder name to reveal the three-dot icon (context menu).
- Click on this icon to open the folder options menu.
Step 3: Moving the Folder
- In the folder options menu, select
Move
. - A new interface will appear, allowing you to choose the new destination for the folder.
Step 4: Choosing the New Parent Folder
- On the new interface, you will see a list of possible parent folders. This is the
Parent Folder
selection area. - You can click on any parent folder to expand it and see subfolders.
- Once you find the desired new location, click on it to select it.
Step 5: Confirm the Move
- After selecting the new parent folder, confirm your selection.
- Click on the
Select
button, usually located at the bottom of the interface, to finalize the move.
Important Tips
- Make sure you have the necessary permissions to reorganize folders within your workspace.
- Review the destination folder structure to ensure that the move aligns with your project organization strategy.
- If you cannot find a suitable parent folder, consider creating a new one before moving the current folder.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues or do not see the move option:
- Refresh your browser.
- Check if the folder is archived, as archived folders may need to be unarchived before moving.
- Contact your administrator or support if the problem persists.
