DevStride enables teams to manage their work items efficiently. This documentation covers the steps to manage and assign items within the DevStride workspace.

Step 1: Accessing the Item

To begin managing an item:

  • Navigate to the relevant section on your DevStride dashboard.
  • Click on the item you wish to manage. This will open the item's workspace.

Step 2: Assigning the Item

Assigning to a Team Member

  • In the workspace, locate the 'ASSIGNED TO' section.
  • Click on 'Clear' to assign the item to a team member.
  • Select a team member from the drop-down list that appears.

Setting the Cycle/Board

  • Under the 'CYCLE/BOARD' section, click 'Clear' to set the item's cycle or board.
  • Choose the appropriate cycle or board from the options provided.

Step 3: Setting Status and Time

Updating the Status

  • Find the 'STATUS' dropdown.
  • Select the current status of the item, such as 'New', 'In Progress', or 'Completed'.

Estimating Time

  • Click on the 'TIME ESTIMATE' field.
  • Enter the estimated time required to complete the item.

Recording Time Spent

  • Next to 'TIME SPENT', log the actual time spent on the item so far.

Step 4: Defining Priority and Dates

Setting Priority

  • Click on the 'PRIORITY' dropdown.
  • Choose a priority level like 'Normal', 'High', or 'Critical'.

Adding Dates

  • For 'START DATE' and for 'DUE DATE', click 'Clear' to input or select the appropriate dates using the calendar interface.

Step 5: Additional Item Options

Tracking Progress Manually

  • If needed, check the 'Track Progress Manually' option.
  • Specify the 'MANUAL PERCENTAGE COMPLETED' to reflect the progress.

Selecting a Release

  • Click the 'RELEASE' dropdown to associate the item with a specific release, if applicable.

Step 6: Adding Description and Comments

Writing a Description

  • Click into the 'Enter description here...' field.
  • Use the rich text editor to format and enter detailed information about the item.

Commenting for Collaboration

  • Scroll to the 'Comments' section at the bottom.
  • Click 'Add Comment' to provide feedback, ask questions, or give updates on the item.
